Install Your Water Ionizer Under the Sink Counter: Melody, Athena, Delphi

It's quick and easy to installed a water ionizer on top of the counter, next to your sink. However, the Melody, Athena and Delphi water ionizers are best suited for under the counter installation.

Under-Sink Water Ionizer Conversion Kit

This under sink kit includes a stainless steel valve that taps into your cold water line, plus, an extra supply line that feeds a 3 hose vented faucet, designed not to drain while in the "off" position. The faucet can be installed through the sprayer hose opening or soap dispenser opening in your kitchen sink.

Undersink Conversion Kit for Water Ionizers

This kits enables you to perform a proper under sink counter installation.
The water source can be either the cold line of a dishwasher or the cold water feed.

Included are:

Faucet with 3 high pressure hoses
Attachment for cold water dishwasher inlet hose
1 Brass Tee and nipple with John Guest adaptor (quick connect) for Green tube to connect to.
1 Grey John Guest Quickfit Joiner to join clear faucet tube to the top of the Ionizer.

Important: Please read before you begin Installation

The acid water outlet from the bottom of the ionizer needs to run downward so that it joins to the
dishwasher or waste water line below the bottom of the ionizer. Because of this your ionizer will
need to be raised above floor level.

Attaching to cold water pipe:

1. Decide on position of your ionizer. The closer to the door the better, with easy access to controls. It is good to mount it on the side wall with the screws supplied so that you do not lose storage space for cleaning materials. Also, install as high as possible so to allow for the downhill flow of the acid waste water.
2. Attach threaded John Guest valve into the top hole of your ionizer.
3. Install faucet by using an available hole in the sink or cutting a 1" hole in countertop or use an extra opening through the sink and fastening it in place. Be sure the location of the faucet allows the outlet spout to extend slightly past the edge of the sink. The spout on the faucet supplied in the kit measures four inches reach from the base.
4. TURN OFF YOUR COLD WATER SUPPLY VALVE and attach the “T” valve fitting to the cold water supply line.
5. Attach the Green Tube to the “T” Valve on the Cold Water supply line.
6. Connect the blue hose into the tap water inlet fitting under the Water Ionizer.
7. Connect the clear hose into the John Guest Valve that you have already installed into the top of the Water Ionizer.
8. Attach supplied Drain with T to under your sink . ***PLEASE NOTE: The IONIZER NEEDS TO BE ABOVE THE T-DRAIN TO ALLOW FOR PROPER DRAINAGE OF THE WATER***.
9. Attach grey (or white) 3/8" tube to acid water outlet. A clamp is not required. If the dishwasher drain is not occupied on the sink drain, open it up and attach the acid water hose, using silicon to seal it. If this is already used, use a hose tee into the dishwasher drain hose to allow it to share the dishwasher drainage point with the dishwasher, or drill a hole in waste pipe and use silicon to fix acid hose in place. In this case, you need to create an S-bend in the acid hose to prevent odor. This can be done using cup hooks on the wall of the cupboard. You will want to cut the length of this hose so it is not too long . In both cases the drain outlet must be LOWER than the ionizer.
10. Turn on the cold water supply and test for leaks.
11. Plug in the ionizer and turn it on. Select the pH setting you require. Turn on the faucet above sink and test the flow.

Attaching to Dishwasher cold water hose.

As above except for cold water attachment to dishwasher cold water inlet hose.

Water flow:

Cold Water Supply to faucet via Green tube. Faucet to Ionizer inlet fitting via blue tube. Ionizer out(top) to faucet via clear hose plus ionizer to drain via grey tube from underneath ionizer. (Ionizer splits water into alkaline and acid streams).

Note: Install Ionizer as high as possible, with user access to controls. Mounting holes on rear, screws provided.
